As of December 31 st , 2023, at 12:01 am, the state of Florida along with Citrus County will be adopting and enforcing the 8 th Edition 2023 Florida Building Code, which includes the 2020 National Electrical Code. All permit applications received on or after December 31, 2023 are required to have design and engineering based on the 8 th Edition of the Florida Building Code and 2020 NEC.
